Online Notepad
Start typing - it saves itself. Full formatting, nine fonts, code blocks. Nothing is uploaded: your text lives in this browser's own storage, so there is no account to make, no ads, and nothing for us to read.
Saved in this browser only. Clearing your browsing data, or opening the page in a private window or on another device, will not show this text.
How this notepad works
Everything happens in the page. As you type, the document is written to localStorage, a small storage area the browser keeps for this site on your own machine. When you come back, the page reads it out again - formatting, fonts and all.
There is no form submission, no autosave request, no draft sync. If you disconnect from the internet the notepad keeps working exactly the same way. That also means the text is only ever on the device you typed it on - it will not follow you to your phone or another browser.
This is the same editor that runs inside the Snoq desktop app, with the same nine fonts and the same toolbar, served from this domain rather than a CDN.
Because the storage is genuinely necessary to provide the notepad you asked for, there is no cookie banner here. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies on this page.
Questions
Is my text sent to your server?
No. The notepad makes no network request with your content, and the page has no upload endpoint to send it to. You can confirm it yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and type - nothing leaves.
Does it keep my formatting?
Yes - bold, italic, underline, colours, alignment, lists, blockquotes and syntax-highlighted code blocks all persist, along with your font and size choices. You can export plain text or formatted HTML at any time.
Will my notes still be here tomorrow?
Usually yes, in the same browser on the same device. But browser storage is not permanent: clearing your history, using private browsing, or a browser's automatic cleanup can all erase it. Treat this as a scratchpad, not a filing cabinet.
Is it encrypted?
The notepad document is stored unencrypted in browser storage, so anyone with access to your unlocked computer and browser profile could read it. If you need real encryption at rest, use the AES encryption tool for one-off text, or Snoq for an encrypted notes database on your disk.
Do I need an account?
No, and there isn't one to make. There is no sign-up, no email prompt and no paid tier on any of these tools.
This note disappears when you clear your browser
You have just used Snoq's editor. The desktop app is the same thing without the fragility: a free Windows notes app that stores everything in an AES-256 encrypted database on your own disk. Argon2id key derivation, tabs, categories, full-text search, PDF export - no account, no cloud, no telemetry.
